Ayaz Clay Pot

A single-handled jug, hand-thrown by a Ukrainian potter in the 1920s, from the same tradition of everyday pottery that Ukrainian households relied on for cooking and serving long before it became something you'd display. The blackened base is from real time in a wood oven, not a stain.

It measures about 7" across the body (8" including the handle) and stands 6.5" tall, sized to sit comfortably in one hand the way it was originally meant to be carried. Surface, color, and shape are all a little uneven, exactly what you'd expect from clay shaped by hand a hundred years ago.

This is the one piece we have, sold as-is, so take a close look at the photos before buying. As a vintage item it isn't returnable.
